QR Code Types
QRelix offers 17 QR code types organized into three categories. Every code is dynamic and trackable by default — no matter which type you choose, you get scan analytics, design customization, and the ability to update content without reprinting.
General
URL
Links to any website or webpage. The most commonly used type, and the most versatile — any web address works.
Best for: Marketing campaigns, business cards, product packaging, flyers, posters, and digital ads.
Mirrored QR
Copies an existing QR code and adds QRelix customization and tracking. This is how you upgrade a static QR code to a dynamic, branded version without changing the physical code. Useful when you already have codes in circulation and want to add analytics.
Best for: Upgrading static codes to dynamic ones, rebranding codes from other generators, adding analytics to existing codes.
File
Upload a document, image, PDF, or other file. Scanners can view or download it instantly from a QRelix-hosted page.
Best for: Menus, spec sheets, event programs, brochures, instruction manuals, and warranty registration forms.
Wi-Fi Login
Stores the network name (SSID), password, and encryption type. Devices auto-connect without the user needing to type anything — just scan and connect.
Best for: Restaurants, hotels, co-working spaces, offices, retail stores, and event venues. Eliminates the "what's the Wi-Fi password?" question.
Maps
Opens Apple Maps or Google Maps with a pre-populated address or coordinates. The scanner's default maps app handles navigation.
Best for: Storefronts, event venues, real estate listings, business cards, wedding invitations, and any printed material where location context matters.
vCard
Shares contact information — name, phone, email, company, job title, website — directly to the scanner's address book with one tap.
Best for: Business cards, conference badges, email signatures, and networking events. Replaces manual contact entry and reduces the chance of typos.
Opens the scanner's email client with a pre-filled recipient address, subject line, and body text.
Best for: Feedback collection, support requests, RSVP flows, and any workflow where you want to make it effortless for someone to send you an email.
Phone
Opens the phone app to call a number or the messaging app with a pre-written text message.
Best for: Support lines, sales hotlines, appointment scheduling, text-to-join campaigns, and emergency contact information.
Custom Content
These types host content on a QRelix landing page rather than linking to an external site.
Note
Displays a text-based message or information page when scanned. No external website required.
Best for: Instructions, event details, product information, internal notices, and any content you want to present without building a separate web page.
Survey
Presents a form with custom questions. Responses are collected through QRelix — no third-party form tool needed.
Best for: Customer feedback, event evaluations, post-purchase surveys, employee check-ins, and quick polls. Track response rates alongside scan analytics.
Deep Links
Deep links detect whether the scanner has a specific app installed. If so, the content opens directly in the app. If not, it falls back to the browser.
App Stores
Detects the scanner's device (iOS or Android) and redirects to the correct app store listing automatically.
YouTube
Opens a YouTube channel or video directly in the YouTube app.
Opens an Instagram profile or post in the Instagram app.
Opens a Facebook profile or page in the Facebook app.
Twitter (X)
Opens a Twitter/X profile or tweet in the X app.
TikTok
Opens a TikTok profile or video in the TikTok app.
Opens a LinkedIn profile in the LinkedIn app.
