How it works

How to make a facebook qr code

  1. Paste your page or profile link

Copy your page link from the Facebook app or your browser and paste it in, or type the page username on its own. The tool builds the full facebook.com link for you.

  2. Choose colors and settings

Open the Design tab to pick a color preset or your own brand colors, set error correction, and choose the PNG size. A built-in contrast check warns you if your colors are too close to scan reliably.

  3. Test and download

Scan the live preview with your phone to confirm it opens the right page, then download a PNG for screens or an SVG for print. The code is made right in your browser.

  4. Optional: make it a Smart QR code

If you want to count scans or change the destination later, create a Smart QR code at /create-qr-code. You can point it at a new page, an event, or an offer after printing, and see every scan. Free plan, no credit card.

Explained

What is a facebook qr code?

A Facebook QR code opens your Facebook page or profile when it is scanned. The code stores your page's web address, for example https://www.facebook.com/yourbusiness, and phones treat that address as a link the Facebook app can handle. If the app is installed, the scan opens your page in the app, where the follow and message buttons are one tap away. If it is not, the page opens in the mobile browser instead.

You can paste a full link or type just the page username. To find the link, open your page or profile in the Facebook app or website and use the share or copy link option, or copy the address from your browser's address bar. A numeric profile ID works too: the tool turns it into the matching profile.php?id= link. Business pages with a custom username make shorter links, which produce simpler codes that scan more easily at small sizes.

The code on this page is static. The link is written into the pattern, so it never expires and has no scan limit, but it cannot be changed after you print it. If you change your page's username, links to the old one can stop working and every printed code goes with them, so settle the username before you print. Keep the code dark on a light background, print it at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide, and test-scan the final artwork with an iPhone and an Android before a print run.

Use cases

Where facebook qr codes work best

  • Storefront windows and counters

A code on the door or by the register gives walk-in customers an easy way to find your page for hours, updates, and events. Add a short line under the code, like "Follow us for weekly specials", so people know why they should scan.

  • Restaurant table tents and receipts

Diners can scan from the table to see your page, check in, or leave a recommendation while the meal is fresh in their mind. Printing the code at the bottom of the receipt keeps it in their pocket after they leave.

  • Community groups and events

Clubs, churches, schools, and nonprofits that organize on Facebook can put a code on flyers and bulletins. Paste the link to a group or event page and people land in the right place instead of searching for a name that several pages share.

  • Product packaging and inserts

A small code on a box or thank-you card turns a purchase into a follow, so customers see your next launch or restock. The short link keeps the code scannable at label size.

  • Business cards and flyers

Many small businesses use their Facebook page as their main website. A code on the back of a card takes new contacts straight to your reviews, photos, and contact details without typing anything.

  • Trade show booths and markets

Vendors at markets and fairs can print the code on a banner or table sign so visitors follow on the spot and find you again after the event.

Static or Smart

Static facebook qr code or Smart QR code?

What the free code on this page does, and what a QRelix Smart QR code adds.

  • A static Facebook code stores your page link itself, so it works without any service in between and never expires, but the destination is fixed once printed.
  • Static codes record nothing. You will not know how many people scanned, when, or on what device, or which sign or package sent them.
  • A QRelix Smart QR code encodes a short QRelix link you can repoint at any time, logs each scan with time, device, browser, and approximate location, and lets you add your logo, dot shapes, and corner styles.
  • The free plan includes unlimited Smart QR codes and the full analytics dashboard. Each free code gets 20 scans a month and shows a brief QRelix screen before forwarding; Pro lifts both for $5.99 a month.

FAQ

Facebook QR Code questions

How do I create a QR code for my Facebook page?
Copy your page link from the Facebook app or your browser, paste it into the field above, and download the code as a PNG or SVG. You can also type just the page username and the tool builds the link. The code is made in your browser with no account, and it never expires. If you want scan counts or an editable destination, create a Smart QR code at /create-qr-code instead.
Does a Facebook QR code open the app or the browser?
It opens the Facebook app when the app is installed, because the code stores a standard facebook.com link that phones hand to the app. On a phone without the app, the page opens in the mobile browser. Either way, no QR scanner app is needed: the built-in camera on modern iPhones and Android phones reads the code.
Can I make a QR code for a Facebook group or event?
Yes. Open the group or event in your browser or the app, copy its link, and paste the full address into the field. The tool keeps a pasted facebook.com link as it is, so the code opens exactly that group or event. Keep in mind that private groups only show their content to members, so people who scan will see a join request rather than the posts.
What happens if I change my Facebook page username?
Your printed static codes still contain the old username, and links to an old username can stop working once it changes. Settle your page username before you print. If a change is possible, use a Smart QR code from /create-qr-code: it points at a QRelix link you can redirect to the new page address without reprinting.
Can I see how many people scan my Facebook QR code?
Not with the static code from this page. The scan goes straight from the phone to Facebook, so nothing in between counts it. A QRelix Smart QR code records each scan with the time, device, browser, and approximate location, and the analytics dashboard is included on the free plan.
Will people who scan see my personal profile?
They see whatever your privacy settings show to the public or to people who are not your friends. For a business, link your Facebook page rather than a personal profile, since pages are public by design and include your hours, reviews, and contact buttons. Test-scan the code from a phone that is not logged in as you to see exactly what visitors get.
What size should I print a Facebook QR code?
At least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide for cards, labels, and receipts. For signs, allow roughly one unit of code width for every ten units of scanning distance, so a code scanned from 2 m away should be about 20 cm wide. Use the SVG for print, keep a clear margin around the code, and test with an iPhone and an Android before printing a batch.
