How it works

How to make a telegram qr code

  1. Enter a username or t.me link

Type the public username, with or without the @, or paste a t.me link. The tool builds the t.me address and the live preview updates as you type, so you can scan it straight from the screen.

  2. Choose colors and settings

Open the Design tab to pick a color preset or your own colors, set error correction, and choose the PNG size. A built-in contrast check blocks downloads when the colors are too close to scan reliably.

  3. Test and download

Scan the preview with your phone to confirm it opens the right chat, group, or channel, then download a PNG for screens or an SVG for print. The code is made right in your browser.

  4. Optional: make it a Smart QR code

If the username might change, or you want to see how many people scan, create a Smart QR code at /create-qr-code. You can change the destination after printing and see every scan. Free plan, no credit card.

Explained

What is a telegram qr code?

A Telegram QR code opens a Telegram chat, group, or channel when it is scanned. The code stores a t.me link, for example t.me/yourname, and the phone's camera hands it to the Telegram app if it is installed, or opens the t.me page in the browser if it is not, where people can continue to the app. It works for anything with a public Telegram username: your personal account, a bot, a public group, or a public channel.

The code on this page is static. The link is written into the pattern, so it never expires and has no scan limit, but it cannot be edited or counted after you download it. Telegram usernames can be changed or released, and if that happens, a printed code points to a name that no longer reaches you or that someone else may take. Settle on the username before you print, or use a dynamic code you can repoint.

To find a username, open the chat, group, or channel profile in Telegram and look for the username or its t.me link. Private groups and channels without a public username use invite links instead; for those, paste the invite link into the URL QR code generator. Print the code dark on a light background with a clear margin, at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide, and test-scan it with an iPhone and an Android before printing a batch.

Use cases

Where telegram qr codes work best

  • Announcement channels

Put your channel code on flyers, posters, and storefront windows so customers, members, or fans can subscribe to updates in one scan, without handing over a phone number.

  • Community and event groups

Show a public group's code on the welcome slide or registration desk at a conference, meetup, or course, so attendees join the chat before the first session.

  • Customer support and orders

Add a code to packaging, receipts, or the counter that opens a chat with your business account or support bot, so customers can ask questions in the app they already use.

  • Travel and tour groups

Guides and hosts can put a group code on itineraries and welcome packs so travelers join the group chat for meeting points and schedule changes.

  • Business cards and email signatures

A code on a card opens a chat with you directly, which is handy when you would rather not share a phone number with every new contact.

Static or Smart

Static telegram qr code or Smart QR code?

What the free code on this page does, and what a QRelix Smart QR code adds.

  • A static Telegram code stores its t.me link permanently. If you change or release the username, every printed copy points to a name that no longer reaches you.
  • Static codes record nothing, so you cannot tell how many people scanned or which flyer, package, or slide brought them in.
  • A Smart QR code from QRelix encodes a short QRelix link you can repoint at any time, logs each scan in an analytics dashboard, and lets you add your logo and dot styles.
  • The free plan includes unlimited Smart QR codes. Each code gets 20 scans a month and shows a brief QRelix screen before forwarding; Pro lifts both for $5.99 a month.

FAQ

Telegram QR Code questions

How do I make a QR code for my Telegram?
Type your Telegram username into the field above, with or without the @, and the tool encodes t.me/yourname. Scan the preview to check it, then download a PNG or SVG. It is free, needs no account, and the code is generated in your browser.
Can I make a QR code for a Telegram group or channel?
Yes, if the group or channel has a public username: enter it the same way as a personal username. Private groups and channels use invite links instead of usernames; paste an invite link into the URL QR code generator to make a code for it.
Where do I find my Telegram username?
Open Telegram, go to Settings, and look for your username under your account details. For a group or channel you manage, open its profile to see the public link. If you have no username, you can set one in Settings before generating the code.
Does the Telegram QR code open the app?
On phones with Telegram installed, scanning the t.me link normally opens the chat, group, or channel in the app. Without the app, the link opens a t.me web page that shows the account and a button to continue in Telegram.
What happens if I change my Telegram username?
Printed static codes keep pointing to the old username, which may no longer reach you and could be claimed by someone else. If a change is possible, use a Smart QR code from /create-qr-code: you can repoint it to the new username without reprinting anything.
Can I track how many people scan my Telegram QR code?
Not with the static code from this page. A Smart QR code from QRelix records each scan with time, device, browser, and approximate location, and the analytics dashboard is included on the free plan.
