How it works
How to make a messenger qr code
Enter your Page username or m.me link
Type your Facebook Page username, the part after facebook.com/, or paste an m.me link. The tool builds the m.me address and the live preview updates as you type, so you can scan it from the screen.
Choose colors and settings
Open the Design tab to pick a color preset or your own brand colors, set error correction, and choose the PNG size. A built-in contrast check blocks downloads when the colors are too close to scan reliably.
Test and download
Scan the preview with your phone to confirm it opens a chat with your Page, then download a PNG for screens or an SVG for print. The code is made right in your browser.
Optional: make it a Smart QR code
If your Page username might change, or you want to see how many people scan, create a Smart QR code at /create-qr-code. You can change the destination after printing and see every scan. Free plan, no credit card.
Explained
What is a messenger qr code?
A Messenger QR code opens a Messenger conversation with your Facebook Page when it is scanned. The code stores an m.me link, for example m.me/yourbusiness, and the phone's camera hands it to the Messenger app if it is installed, or opens the chat in the browser if it is not. Customers can ask a question, book, or order without searching for your Page or typing your name.
The code on this page is static. The link is written into the pattern, so it never expires and has no scan limit, but it cannot be edited or counted after you download it. The m.me link is built from your Page username, and Facebook lets you change that username. If you do, printed codes still use the old one and may stop reaching you, so settle on the username first or use a dynamic code you can repoint.
Your Page username is the part after facebook.com/ in your Page's address; you can also paste an m.me link if you already have one. Before printing, make sure messaging is turned on for your Page and that someone will answer: a chat that goes unanswered is worse than no code. Print the code dark on a light background with a clear margin, at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide, and test-scan it with an iPhone and an Android before printing a batch.
Use cases
Where messenger qr codes work best
Storefront windows and counters
Put a code on the door or by the register with a line like Message us for orders and questions. Customers who find you closed can still reach you, and you answer when you are back.
Restaurant takeout and reservations
Add a code to takeout menus, bags, and table tents that opens a chat for orders, reservations, or catering questions, in the app many customers already use every day.
Service businesses and quotes
Contractors, salons, and repair shops can put a code on vans, yard signs, and flyers so prospects can message for a quote or an appointment without a phone call.
Product packaging and support
A code on the box or manual opens a chat with your support team for setup help or returns. It is easier to scan than to find your Page and the message button.
Nonprofit and church outreach
Put a code on event flyers, bulletins, or donation cards so people can message your organization to ask questions, volunteer, or get more information.
Static or Smart
Static messenger qr code or Smart QR code?
What the free code on this page does, and what a QRelix Smart QR code adds.
- A static Messenger code stores its m.me link permanently. If you change your Page username, every printed copy points to the old one.
- Static codes record nothing, so you cannot tell how many people scanned the sign, the bag, or the flyer before messaging you.
- A Smart QR code from QRelix encodes a short QRelix link you can repoint at any time, logs each scan in an analytics dashboard, and lets you add your logo and dot styles.
- The free plan includes unlimited Smart QR codes. Each code gets 20 scans a month and shows a brief QRelix screen before forwarding; Pro lifts both for $5.99 a month.

FAQ
Messenger QR Code questions
- How do I make a Messenger QR code for my Facebook Page?
- Type your Page username into the field above and the tool encodes m.me/yourbusiness. Scan the preview to check it opens a chat with your Page, then download a PNG or SVG. It is free, needs no account, and the code is generated in your browser.
- Where do I find my Facebook Page username?
- Open your Page on Facebook and look at the address: the username is the part after facebook.com/. If your Page shows a long number instead of a name, set a username in your Page settings first, so the m.me link is short and readable.
- Does the Messenger QR code open the app?
- On phones with Messenger installed, the operating system normally hands the m.me link to the app and a conversation with your Page opens. Without the app, the link opens in the browser, where people can continue to Messenger.
- Why does my Messenger QR code not open a chat?
- Check that messaging is turned on for your Page, that the username in the code matches your current Page username, and that the Page is published. Then scan the code again on an iPhone and an Android, with and without the Messenger app, to see where it lands.
- What happens if I change my Page username?
- Printed static codes keep using the old username and may stop opening your chat. If a change is possible, use a Smart QR code from /create-qr-code: you can repoint it to the new m.me link without reprinting anything.
- Can I track how many people scan my Messenger QR code?
- Not with the static code from this page. A Smart QR code from QRelix records each scan with time, device, browser, and approximate location, and the analytics dashboard is included on the free plan.
