How it works

How to make a pinterest qr code

  1. Enter your username or pin link

Type your Pinterest username to link your profile, or paste a pin.it link from Share > Copy link to open a single pin. The live preview updates as you type, so you can scan it straight from the screen.

  2. Choose colors and settings

Open the Design tab to pick a color preset or your own brand colors, set error correction, and choose the PNG size. A built-in contrast check blocks downloads when the colors are too close to scan reliably.

  3. Test and download

Scan the preview with your phone to confirm it opens the right profile or pin, then download a PNG for screens or an SVG for print. The code is made right in your browser.

  4. Optional: make it a Smart QR code

If the pin or profile might change, or you want to see how many people scan, create a Smart QR code at /create-qr-code. You can change the destination after printing and see every scan. Free plan, no credit card.

Explained

What is a pinterest qr code?

A Pinterest QR code opens your Pinterest profile, or one specific pin, when it is scanned. Enter your username and the code stores your profile link, pinterest.com/yourbusiness; paste a pin.it share link instead and the code opens that pin. The phone's camera reads the code and hands the link to the Pinterest app if it is installed, or opens it in the browser if it is not, so nobody has to search for your account by name.

The code on this page is static. The link is written into the pattern, so it never expires and has no scan limit, but it cannot be edited or counted after you download it. Pinterest lets you change your username in your profile settings, and if you do, a printed profile code points to the old name. Pins can also be deleted or archived. If you link to a pin that might come down, or to a seasonal idea you will replace next year, consider a dynamic code you can redirect later.

To find your username, open your profile in the Pinterest app or on the website: it is the name after pinterest.com/ in the address and under your display name on the profile. For a pin, tap Share, then Copy link, and paste the pin.it link here. Print the code dark on a light background with a clear margin around it, at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide, and test-scan it with an iPhone and an Android before printing a batch.

Use cases

Where pinterest qr codes work best

  • Product packaging and inserts

Link a box insert or label to a pin or board of styling ideas, recipes, or project inspiration that uses the product. Buyers who scan see what else they can make or wear, and can save your pins to their own boards.

  • Craft fairs and market stalls

Put a code on your table sign or price cards so browsers can follow your profile and come back to your work later. It is a lighter ask than a purchase and keeps your shop in front of them after the event.

  • Recipe cards and cookbooks

Add a code to a printed recipe card, menu insert, or cookbook page that opens the matching pin with photos and step-by-step notes. Readers save it to their boards and come back to it when they cook.

  • Wedding and event planning

Planners and vendors can link a brochure or consultation handout to their profile of past work, so couples browse styles before the first meeting. A code on a mood-board printout takes clients straight to the inspiration behind it.

  • Salon and boutique displays

A small code at the station or by the fitting room links to your profile of looks, cuts, or outfits. Customers save the styles they like and show them on their next visit.

  • Workshops and classes

Put a code on handouts or the last slide that opens a pin with the pattern, template, or supply list. Attendees leave with the reference saved instead of a photo of the whiteboard.

Static or Smart

Static pinterest qr code or Smart QR code?

What the free code on this page does, and what a QRelix Smart QR code adds.

  • A static Pinterest code stores your profile or pin link permanently. If you rename your account or the pin is removed, every printed copy leads to a dead page.
  • Static codes record nothing, so you cannot tell which package, sign, or handout drove a visit to your profile.
  • A Smart QR code from QRelix encodes a short QRelix link you can repoint at any time, logs each scan in an analytics dashboard, and lets you add your logo and dot styles.
  • The free plan includes unlimited Smart QR codes. Each code gets 20 scans a month and shows a brief QRelix screen before forwarding; Pro lifts both for $5.99 a month.

FAQ

Pinterest QR Code questions

How do I make a QR code for my Pinterest profile?
Type your Pinterest username into the field above, without the @ or the full address, and the tool builds your profile link, pinterest.com/yourusername, and encodes it. Scan the preview to check it, then download a PNG or SVG. It is free, needs no account, and the code is generated in your browser.
Can I make a QR code for a single Pinterest pin?
Yes. Open the pin in the Pinterest app or on the website, tap Share, then Copy link, and paste the pin.it link into the field. The code opens that pin instead of your profile. If the pin might be deleted or replaced, make a Smart QR code at /create-qr-code so you can point it at a new pin later.
Does a Pinterest QR code open the app?
On phones with Pinterest installed, the operating system normally hands the link to the app, so the profile or pin opens there. Without the app, it opens on the Pinterest website in the browser. The code itself is a standard QR code with a regular https link, so any phone camera can scan it.
What happens if I change my Pinterest username?
A printed profile code keeps pointing to the old username, so it may no longer reach your profile. Settle on your username before you print, or use a Smart QR code from /create-qr-code, which you can repoint to the new profile without reprinting anything.
Can I track how many people scan my Pinterest QR code?
Not with the static code from this page: scans go straight to Pinterest and nothing in between counts them. A Smart QR code from QRelix records each scan with time, device, browser, and approximate location, and the analytics dashboard is included on the free plan.
What size should I print a Pinterest QR code?
At least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide for labels, cards, and packaging held in the hand. For signs, make the code roughly one tenth of the distance people will scan from: about 20 cm wide for a sign read from 2 m away. Download the SVG for print so it stays sharp at any size.
