How it works
How to make a spotify qr code
Paste your Spotify link
In Spotify, open the song, album, playlist, artist, or podcast, tap Share, then Copy link, and paste the open.spotify.com or spotify.link address here. The live preview updates as soon as the link is recognized.
Choose colors and settings
Open the Design tab to pick a color preset or your own colors, set error correction, and choose the PNG size. A built-in contrast check blocks downloads when the colors are too close to scan reliably.
Test and download
Scan the preview with your phone to confirm it opens the right item, then download a PNG for screens or an SVG for print. The code is made right in your browser.
Optional: make it a Smart QR code
If you want to point the same printed code at your next release, or see how many people scan, create a Smart QR code at /create-qr-code. You can change the destination after printing and see every scan. Free plan, no credit card.
Explained
What is a spotify qr code?
A Spotify QR code opens a song, album, playlist, artist page, or podcast on Spotify when it is scanned. The code stores the Spotify share link, an open.spotify.com or spotify.link address, and the phone's camera hands it to the Spotify app if it is installed, or opens the Spotify web page if it is not. To get the link, open the item in Spotify, tap Share, then Copy link, and paste it here.
Spotify also has its own scannable code, the Spotify Code, which is read from the camera inside the Spotify app. The code on this page is a standard QR code instead: the regular camera on any iPhone or Android recognizes it, so people do not need to know to open Spotify first. It is static, so the link is written into the pattern; it never expires and has no scan limit, but it cannot be edited or counted after you download it.
Think about what will still be there when people scan. A playlist link keeps working as you add and remove tracks, so it suits a code that will be printed once and used for months. A link to a single release always opens that release. If you want one printed code to point at your newest single each time, use a dynamic code you can repoint. Print the code dark on a light background with a clear margin, at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide, and test it with an iPhone and an Android before printing a batch.
Use cases
Where spotify qr codes work best
Gig posters and merch tables
Put your artist page or latest release on posters, the merch table banner, and stickers so people who just heard you play can save the music before they leave the venue.
Album packaging and vinyl sleeves
Add a code to CD inserts, vinyl sleeves, or download cards that opens the album on Spotify, so buyers can play it on the go as well as at home.
Wedding and party playlists
Put a playlist code on invitations, table cards, or the welcome sign so guests can listen before the day or save the soundtrack afterwards. The code keeps working as you add songs.
Shop, gym, and restaurant soundtracks
Customers often ask what is playing. A small code by the counter or on the class board opens your in-house playlist so they can follow it.
Podcast promotion
Add a code to event slides, flyers, and business cards that opens your show on Spotify, so listeners can follow it in the app they already use.
Gifts and greeting cards
Print a code inside a card or on a gift tag that opens a song or playlist you picked for the person. It is a small, personal touch that takes seconds to make.
Static or Smart
Static spotify qr code or Smart QR code?
What the free code on this page does, and what a QRelix Smart QR code adds.
- A static Spotify code stores one link permanently. When you put out a new single, every printed poster still opens the old one.
- Static codes record nothing, so you cannot tell how many people scanned a poster, a sleeve, or a flyer.
- A Smart QR code from QRelix encodes a short QRelix link you can repoint at any time, logs each scan in an analytics dashboard, and lets you add your logo and dot styles.
- The free plan includes unlimited Smart QR codes. Each code gets 20 scans a month and shows a brief QRelix screen before forwarding; Pro lifts both for $5.99 a month.

FAQ
Spotify QR Code questions
- How do I make a QR code for a Spotify playlist?
- Open the playlist in Spotify, tap Share, then Copy link, and paste the link into the field above. Scan the preview to check it opens the playlist, then download a PNG or SVG. It is free, needs no account, and the code is generated in your browser.
- What is the difference between a Spotify Code and a Spotify QR code?
- A Spotify Code is Spotify's own scannable code, read with the camera inside the Spotify app. The code from this page is a standard QR code holding your Spotify link, so the built-in camera on an iPhone or Android can scan it. Use a standard QR code on print where people may not think to open Spotify first.
- Can I make a QR code for a song, album, artist, or podcast?
- Yes. Any Spotify item with a share link works: songs, albums, playlists, artist pages, podcasts, and episodes. Tap Share, then Copy link in Spotify and paste it in. The generator needs the full link; searching by name is not supported.
- Does the QR code open the Spotify app?
- On phones with Spotify installed, the operating system normally hands the link to the app, so the item opens there. Without the app, it opens the Spotify web page for that item in the browser.
- Does the QR code update when I change my playlist?
- Yes. The code stores the playlist's link, not its tracks, so it always opens the playlist as it is now. If you want to switch the code to a different playlist or release entirely, you need a Smart QR code, which you can create free at /create-qr-code and repoint any time.
- Can I track how many people scan my Spotify QR code?
- Not with the static code from this page. A Smart QR code from QRelix records each scan with time, device, browser, and approximate location, and the analytics dashboard is included on the free plan.
- What size should I print a Spotify QR code?
- At least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide for cards, sleeves, and stickers. For posters and banners, make the code roughly one tenth of the scanning distance: about 20 cm wide for a poster read from 2 m away. Download the SVG for print so it stays sharp at any size.
