How it works
How to make a x (twitter) qr code
Enter your X username
Type your @handle, with or without the @, or paste your profile link. The tool builds your profile link, x.com/yourusername, and encodes it.
Choose colors and settings
Open the Design tab to pick a color preset or your own brand colors, set error correction, and choose the PNG size. A built-in contrast check warns you if your colors are too close to scan reliably.
Test and download
Scan the live preview with your phone to confirm your profile opens, then download a PNG for screens or an SVG for print. The code is made right in your browser.
Optional: make it a Smart QR code
If you might change your handle or want to count scans, create a Smart QR code at /create-qr-code. You can repoint it after printing and see every scan. Free plan, no credit card.
Explained
What is a x (twitter) qr code?
An X (Twitter) QR code opens your X profile when it is scanned. You type your username, and the code stores your profile link, https://x.com/yourbusiness. Phones with the X app installed open the profile in the app, ready to follow; phones without it open the profile in the browser.
Your username is the handle that starts with @, shown under your name on your profile. Type it with or without the @, or paste a profile link from x.com or twitter.com and the tool picks out the username. Your display name is different: it can include spaces and emoji and is not part of the link.
The code is static, so it never expires and has no scan limit, but the handle is written into it. If you change your username, scans of the printed code no longer reach you, and the old handle can be claimed by someone else. If your posts are protected, people who scan will see your profile but not your posts until you approve them. Print the code at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide and test it with an iPhone and an Android before printing.
Use cases
Where x (twitter) qr codes work best
Conference slides and talks
Put the code on your title or closing slide so the audience can follow you and share the talk while it is happening. It beats asking a room to spell your handle correctly.
Business cards and badges
A code on a card or name badge gives new contacts a quick way to follow the account where you share updates, opinions, and work.
Customer support signage
Businesses that answer questions on X can put the code on packaging, receipts, or in-store signs so customers reach the right support account instead of a lookalike.
Sports teams and live events
Teams and event organizers can print the code on programs, tickets, and venue screens so fans follow for scores, schedule changes, and live updates.
Press kits and media walls
Add the code to a press kit, media backdrop, or one-sheet so journalists and partners find your official account in one scan.
Static or Smart
Static x (twitter) qr code or Smart QR code?
What the free code on this page does, and what a QRelix Smart QR code adds.
- A static X code stores your profile link permanently. If you change your username, every printed code points at a handle that is no longer yours.
- Static codes record nothing: you cannot see how many people scanned, when, or which slide, sign, or card brought them.
- A QRelix Smart QR code encodes a short QRelix link you can repoint at any time, logs each scan with time, device, browser, and approximate location, and lets you add your logo, dot shapes, and corner styles.
- The free plan includes unlimited Smart QR codes and the full analytics dashboard. Each free code gets 20 scans a month and shows a brief QRelix screen before forwarding; Pro lifts both for $5.99 a month.

FAQ
X (Twitter) QR Code questions
- How do I make a QR code for my X (Twitter) profile?
- Type your username into the field above, with or without the @, and download the code as a PNG or SVG. The tool builds your profile link, x.com/yourusername, and encodes it in your browser. There is no account to create. For scan counts or an editable link, create a Smart QR code at /create-qr-code.
- Does the code use x.com or twitter.com?
- It uses x.com, the platform's current address. If you paste a twitter.com profile link, the tool reads the username from it and builds the x.com link. Both addresses open the same profile in the app or browser.
- Does an X QR code open the app?
- Yes, when the X app is installed. The code stores a standard x.com profile link, which iPhone and Android hand to the app. Without the app, the profile opens in the mobile browser. The built-in camera reads the code, so no scanner app is needed.
- What happens if I change my X username?
- The printed code keeps the old handle, so scans go to that handle's page, which may be empty or later taken by someone else. Choose the handle you plan to keep before printing, or use a Smart QR code you can redirect to the new username without reprinting.
- Can I make a QR code for a single post on X?
- This tool makes profile codes. For a single post, copy the post link from the share option and paste it into the URL QR code generator, or create a Smart QR code at /create-qr-code so you can change which post it opens later.
- Will it work if my posts are protected?
- The code opens your profile, but people will only see your posts after you approve their follow request. For a business or public figure, a public account is a better fit for printed codes. Test-scan from a phone that is not logged in to your account to see what visitors get.
