How it works
How to make a paypal qr code
Enter your PayPal.Me name
Type your PayPal.Me username or paste the full paypal.me link. The code links to paypal.com/paypalme/yourname, which opens the PayPal app when it is installed and the website when it is not.
Choose colors and settings
Open the Design tab to pick a color preset or your own brand colors, set error correction, and choose the PNG size. A built-in check warns you if your colors are too close to scan reliably.
Test and download
Scan the preview with your phone and check that the name and photo on the PayPal page are yours. Then download a PNG for screens or an SVG for print. The code is made right in your browser.
Optional: make it a Smart QR code
If you want to count scans, or keep the option to point the code at a different page later, create a Smart QR code at /create-qr-code. It stays editable after printing. Free plan, no credit card.
Explained
What is a paypal qr code?
A PayPal QR code opens your PayPal.Me page when it is scanned. The code stores the link paypal.com/paypalme/yourname; on a phone with the PayPal app it typically opens the app, and otherwise it opens the page in the browser. The payer enters the amount and completes the payment in PayPal as usual.
Enter your PayPal.Me username, or paste the full paypal.me link. If you do not have one yet, you can create a PayPal.Me link from your PayPal account; once it exists, you will find it in your profile or settings in the app or on paypal.com. Check the spelling carefully, because a typo can open someone else's page, and remember that a printed code always points to the name it was made with.
QRelix never touches the money. The code is a plain link to PayPal's own page, and the payment happens entirely in PayPal. PayPal also offers its own in-app codes, and this tool is useful when you want a print-ready PNG or SVG in your own colors for an invoice, counter, or event sign. Print it at least 3 cm (1.2 in) wide, test-scan with an iPhone and an Android, and confirm the name shown on the page is yours.
Use cases
Where paypal qr codes work best
Invoices and quotes
Add the code to printed or PDF invoices next to the amount due. Clients scan with their phone, enter the total, and pay without retyping an email address. Use the SVG so it stays sharp in print and PDF.
Market stalls and craft fairs
Put a sign with the code beside your prices. Customers enter the total you tell them and show you the completed payment before they go, so you can confirm it came through.
Donations and fundraisers
Nonprofits, churches, and community groups can add the code to event signs, programs, and collection points so people who carry no cash can still give.
Freelance and creative work
Designers, tutors, musicians, and photographers can put the code on a business card, rate sheet, or merch table so clients and fans pay in a scan.
Tip jars and live performances
Place the code on a tip jar, guitar case, or stage sign. Print your PayPal.Me name underneath so people can confirm the page before they send.
Static or Smart
Static paypal qr code or Smart QR code?
What the free code on this page does, and what a QRelix Smart QR code adds.
- A static PayPal code stores your PayPal.Me link itself, so it never expires and has no scan limit, but the name is fixed: if the link changes, every printed copy points to the old one.
- Static codes record nothing, so you cannot tell whether the invoice or the event sign brought in more scans.
- A Smart QR code from QRelix encodes a short QRelix link you can redirect at any time and logs every scan with time, device, browser, and approximate location. It never handles payments; it only opens PayPal.
- The free plan includes unlimited Smart QR codes and the full analytics dashboard. Each code gets 20 scans a month and shows a brief QRelix screen before forwarding; Pro lifts both for $5.99 a month.
| Feature | Static (this page) | Smart QR code |

FAQ
PayPal QR Code questions
- How do I make a QR code for PayPal?
- Type your PayPal.Me username or paste your paypal.me link into the field above, scan the preview to confirm it opens your page, and download the PNG or SVG. The code links to paypal.com/paypalme/yourname. It is free, needs no account, and is generated in your browser.
- Where do I find my PayPal.Me link?
- Look in your profile or settings in the PayPal app or on paypal.com. If you have not set one up, PayPal lets you create a PayPal.Me link from your account. Copy the link or just the name after paypal.me/ and paste it here.
- Can a PayPal QR code include a fixed amount?
- This tool links to your PayPal.Me page, where the payer types the amount. For fixed prices, print the amount next to the code, and ask customers to show you the completed payment so you can check it before they leave.
- Is it safe to display a PayPal QR code in public?
- The code only opens your PayPal.Me page; it cannot take money from anyone. The main risk is someone placing their own sticker over your code, so check printed codes regularly, use laminated or tamper-evident signs, and replace anything that looks altered. Print your PayPal.Me name under the code so payers can confirm the recipient before they pay.
- Does a PayPal QR code expire?
- The static code from this page never expires and has no scan limit. It works for as long as your PayPal.Me link stays the same. If the link changes, you need a new code; a Smart QR code from /create-qr-code can be redirected without reprinting.
- Does QRelix process or store my PayPal payments?
- No. QRelix only generates the image. The code is a plain link to PayPal, and every payment happens inside PayPal. The code is made in your browser, and there is no account to create.
