How it works
How to make a twitch qr code
Enter your channel name
Type your Twitch channel name, the part after twitch.tv/ in your channel address. The tool builds the link and the live preview updates as you type, so you can scan it straight from the screen.
Choose colors and settings
Open the Design tab to pick a color preset or your channel colors, set error correction, and choose the PNG size. A built-in contrast check blocks downloads when the colors are too close to scan reliably.
Test and download
Scan the preview with your phone to confirm it opens your channel, then download a PNG for overlays and panels or an SVG for print. The code is made right in your browser.
Optional: make it a Smart QR code
If you might rename your channel, or want to see which banner or shirt drives scans, create a Smart QR code at /create-qr-code. You can change the destination after printing and see every scan. Free plan, no credit card.
Explained
What is a twitch qr code?
A Twitch QR code opens your Twitch channel when it is scanned. The code stores your channel link, twitch.tv/yourchannel, and the phone's camera hands it to the Twitch app if it is installed, or opens it in the browser if it is not. Viewers land on your channel page, where they can follow, watch if you are live, or catch past broadcasts and clips if you are not.
The code on this page is static. The link is written into the pattern, so it never expires and has no scan limit, but it cannot be edited or counted after you download it. Your channel name is your Twitch username, and Twitch lets you change it. If you do, printed codes still point to the old name and may no longer reach you, so settle on the name before you order merch or banners, or use a dynamic code you can repoint.
On screen, put the code in a corner of your overlay or on a starting-soon scene, large enough to scan from a phone held in front of a monitor or TV, and with plenty of contrast against your background. In print, keep it dark on a light background with a clear margin, at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide, and test-scan it with an iPhone and an Android before printing a batch.
Use cases
Where twitch qr codes work best
Stream overlays and starting scenes
Show the code on a starting-soon or be-right-back scene so viewers watching on a TV or someone else's screen can open your channel on their phone and follow. A PNG at 1024 or 2048 px stays crisp in most overlay layouts.
Convention and LAN party badges
Put the code on your badge, lanyard card, or booth banner so people you meet at events can find your channel without asking you to spell your name.
Merch, stickers, and mousepads
Add a small code to shirts, stickers, or desk mats. Every piece of merch becomes a way for new people to find your channel. Pick a channel name you plan to keep before ordering a print run.
Esports teams and tournaments
Put the team or tournament channel on jerseys, posters, and venue screens so fans in the room can follow the broadcast and catch the replay later.
Business cards for creators
A code on the back of a creator card gives sponsors and collaborators one scan to your channel, where your schedule, panels, and past broadcasts do the pitching.
Static or Smart
Static twitch qr code or Smart QR code?
What the free code on this page does, and what a QRelix Smart QR code adds.
- A static Twitch code stores your channel link permanently. If you change your Twitch username, every printed shirt, sticker, and banner points to the old name.
- Static codes record nothing, so you cannot tell whether the overlay, the merch, or the convention badge brought new viewers.
- A Smart QR code from QRelix encodes a short QRelix link you can repoint at any time, logs each scan in an analytics dashboard, and lets you add your logo and dot styles.
- The free plan includes unlimited Smart QR codes. Each code gets 20 scans a month and shows a brief QRelix screen before forwarding; Pro lifts both for $5.99 a month.

FAQ
Twitch QR Code questions
- How do I make a QR code for my Twitch channel?
- Type your channel name into the field above and the tool encodes twitch.tv/yourchannel. Scan the preview to check it, then download a PNG for your overlay or an SVG for print. It is free, needs no account, and the code is generated in your browser.
- Where do I find my Twitch channel name?
- It is your Twitch username: the part after twitch.tv/ in your channel's address. You can also see it in your profile settings on Twitch. Capitalization does not matter in the link, but the spelling does, so scan the preview before you download.
- Does the Twitch QR code open the app?
- On phones with Twitch installed, the operating system normally hands the link to the app and your channel opens there. Without the app, it opens on the Twitch website in the browser, where people can still watch and follow after signing in.
- Can I put a QR code on my stream?
- Yes. Download a PNG at 1024 or 2048 px and add it to your overlay or a scene in your streaming software. Keep it large enough to scan from a phone pointed at a screen, with strong contrast against the background around it. Test it by scanning your own stream preview.
- What happens if I change my Twitch username?
- Printed static codes keep pointing to the old channel name and may no longer reach you. If a rename is possible, use a Smart QR code from /create-qr-code instead: you can repoint it to the new channel without reprinting anything.
- Can I track how many people scan my Twitch QR code?
- Not with the static code from this page. A Smart QR code from QRelix records each scan with time, device, browser, and approximate location, so you can compare your overlay with your merch. The analytics dashboard is included on the free plan.
