Brand Kits: Branded QR Codes and Scan Pages in Your Colors

Updated

A Brand Kit keeps your logo, colors, and QR code style in one place. Every new QR code starts on-brand, your scan pages show your logo and colors instead of QRelix's, and when your brand changes you can update every code in one click without reprinting.

Brand Kits are included with QRelix Pro (one kit) and QRelix Team (up to 10 kits, for agencies and businesses with several brands). On the Free plan, the Brand Kits page shows a preview.

Create your Brand Kit

  1. Open Brand Kits in the dashboard (/dashboard/brand) and click Create your brand kit.
  2. Upload your logo. QRelix reads your logo's colors and suggests your brand color right away. Click Use my logo's colors to apply them, or pick your own.
  3. Add your brand name. It appears under your logo on scan pages.
  4. Set your brand colors: a primary color for buttons and accents, a secondary color, and a print palette of swatches for the print designer.
  5. Style your QR code: dot shape, corners, colors, and whether your logo sits in the middle and how big.
  6. Watch the live preview and the scannability check, then click Create brand kit.

If you uploaded a logo before Brand Kits existed, your first kit starts with it.

The scannability check

A QR code that looks great but does not scan is worse than no code at all. As you edit, QRelix checks your design:

  • Contrast. The dots and corners need strong contrast with the background. Below 3:1 the kit cannot be saved; between 3:1 and 4.5:1 you get a caution.
  • Light on dark. Inverted codes (light dots on a dark background) work on most phones but not on some older scanners, so you get a caution.
  • Logo size. A logo above 30% of the code gets a caution, and above 40% the kit cannot be saved, because the code loses too much of its error correction.

Use your brand on QR codes

  • New QR codes start with your default kit on the design step of the wizard. Pick another kit or template from the Your brand chips, or start from a preset.
  • Existing QR codes: open Redesign on any code and pick your kit or a template at the top.
  • Bulk imports: choose a kit or template under Design. Your default kit is preselected.

Templates

Save variations of your style, such as "Dark window sticker" or "Table tent", from the kit editor with Save current style as a template. Templates show up next to your kit in the wizard, the redesign dialog, and bulk imports.

Update every code when your brand changes

Codes made from a kit remember it. When you change the kit, its card on the Brand Kits page shows how many codes use an older version, with an Update button. QRelix redraws each code with the new design. Every code keeps its previous design in its version history, so you can revert any of them, and printed copies keep working because only the image changes.

Your brand on scan pages

On Pro and Team, the pages scanners can see while a code opens wear your brand:

  • Your logo and brand name at the top.
  • Your primary color on buttons, links, and the loading spinner, with text colors chosen automatically so they stay readable.
  • A soft tint of your color as the page background.

This covers the password check, the location check, and notice pages such as expired, outside opening hours, scan limit reached, and not yet available. The free plan's QRelix screen is not affected.

Default kit and Team workspaces

The default kit styles new codes and scan pages for codes that do not have a kit of their own. On Team, open a kit's menu and choose Make default to switch. Kits are shared by everyone in the workspace; owners, admins, and editors can change them, and viewers can see them. Kit changes show up in the workspace's activity feed.

Deleting a kit never changes your codes. They keep their current design, and scan pages move to your next kit, or the standard look if it was your only one.
